Hello all, looking for some input/suggestions from people that get to State College more often than I do. I got my trials tickets on that Friday but I was late to the game for getting a hotel. The prices are now all extremely high so just wanted to see if anyone had any insight on places to stay. Thanks!

A lot of airbnb properties in the area, even with the taxing bodies cracking down on inspections and the like.

Some apartments aren't fully rented out, may be willing to rent excess capacity.

Check outside state college, places like Lock Haven, williamsport, Altoona are within a 1/2 hour drive from the BJC.

wow even rodeway inn is 178/night. or the hyatt downtown for 589/night

I rented an AirBnB for a reasonable cost. Hotel would have been quite a bit more.

The day the trials became public I booked the Hyatt downtown for $260 a night for 2 nights.

Booked the last cabin in Moshannon State Park, a 30min drive from BJC. We'll have a fire going friday night, if anyone interested. No ax murders please. My cheap little motel dive was $199/night, 2 night minimum, instead of the normal $67.

I'll probably stay at my brother's house in Grampian - but I think you're on to something here!

Reminded of National Duals/THON weekend several years ago, when I couldn't get a hotel in State College, so wound up staying in (and flying into and out of) Harrisburg...actually worked out reasonably well, as it was halfway between the Naval Academy, where I went the night before for the Army/Navy Dual, and Penn State. Presumably, however, both THON and Olympic Trials are relatively easy to get hotels for compared to, say, Penn State home football weekends, with 107,000 of David Taylor's closest friends showing up!
