They worked hard for Obama. The lead reps for AFSCME literally got fat working for Obama while dispatched to key states for long periods of time, doing the organizing work THERE.
But, for HRC that was not the case. The reps stayed in PA and organized for downballot candidates. The up and coming female lead reps fumed over this, and there was a rift in some union local offices.
Those up and comers are lead reps these days, or so I am told.
It looks like ALL the unions are going to be working for the ticket this year. (Teamsters yet to weigh in.)
Walz spoke at the AFSCME International convention today, with the union president seated beside him.
The head of the UAW, interviewed tonight, nodded his head longer than he needed to after making a statement supporting the ticket.
It will make a difference this year. Mark it down.
