I have no idea how or why NY decided to charge this guy with second-degree manslaughter. There is simply no way anyone in their right mind will now intervene in a threatening situation. In the meantime, in a similar incident, some crazy dude went on a knifing spree and killed several New Yorkers. Could somebody have stopped this? I don't know but they'd have been crazy to try as the last guy who stopped a deranged guy from killing or hurting people was on trial for manslaughter.
