One of the Greatest moments in collegiate wrestling history and in Penn State history

It is because he is of the personality type that gets more excited for the success of others, than his own success.
That is spot on, 82bordeaux. One only has to remember the photo of Cael after David Taylor lost to Kye Dake in the NCAA Finals to realize how invested Cael is.

Or on the flip side... smiling from ear to ear lifting Frank Molinaro up to the rafters after his NCAA Final win or carrying Q or Ed Ruth off the mat after an NCAA Final win. In those moments we know how much it means to Cael.

Now if only we could do that to OSU fans in football!:) Again!

Also when Q gave Cael a case of Mat Slap Fever.

As a strong proponent of Schadenfreude, to watch the faces of tOSU fans go from joyful hopefulness to devastating disappointment in a split second was utterly delightful.
It was about 13 seconds from Martin’s level change to mat slap. I went from sitting on the coach groaning and getting ready for a desperate Nickal fight back, to standing and then being hopeful as the elevator got halfway there, to then biblical vengefulness when the chin got got - PIN HIS ****ING ASS!!!!!!

And then back to the couch feeling happy but bewildered about what I had just seen

No one going even answer his question? I think at the same age Bo takes it. No idea what the score would be but Bo gets the cradle at some point.

I don't think so because Cael mentioned wrestling Bo in practice at the 2019 banquet. Cael told his wife he could tell that he was getting older, he said it's getting tougher to keep Bo on his back the entire practice!

You sure he wasn't talking about keeping his old lady on her back and not Bo? Lol jk. But it must be tough finding time with a gold medalist living in the basement lol.

I was there on the second level, happened right in front of us. Still vividly remember Bo looking almost straight up at us as his back went to the mat and thinking noooo and then, bam! Ranks right up there with Q. Wright's pin of Gambrall as Cael slaped the mat. Two of my all time favorite wrestling PSU moments and I had the good fortune of seeing both in person.

Bordeaux, El, Nerf, to name a few, I can't pick a favorite GIFer. They all provide entertainment while I'm stuck in my basement waiting for my mailman to delivery my invoice for my Rec Hall tickets and the letter from the PSWC telling me I have a possible ticket for the NCAAs if the venue seats 189,000 fans.

Then I'll know this was all just a horrible horrible dream. So keep the GIFs coming as I wait for the mailman.

When Cenzo pinned Imar I screamed so loud I scared our cat half to death! I had DVR'd the Finals and was home alone watching it. I kept pausing the recording to calm down, then when the pin came I lost it! Who says you can't live vicariously through one of your favorite wrestlers? That Cenzo match was awesome, and in my opinion is in the same conversation as Bo's pin. And watching PSU go 5 for 5 in the Finals was another awesome memory. I have never been to the NCAA tournament, but now that I am retired it is my goal to get to one (or more) of them. It would be great to meet some of you Forum lurkers in person.

I’ve told this here before, but I was home alone with my 1 and 4yo. The 1yo had woken up a bit earlier during zain’s match. I had put him in his Bjorn thing and had rocked him back to sleep in a rocking chair. When Cenzo got the trip, I felt like I might explode. It took every ounce of paternal instinct I had not to scream.

My vote for the single greatest moment in NCAA wrestling history is the Bo pin of Martin in the 2018 finals. The sudden turn of fortunes for the individual wrestlers and the two teams will be difficult to ever top.

When I finish this novel I swear I'll write about the match of the century (of the decade? the year? of all time?). I rewatched Carson throwing NaTo through the BlaiseAlexander sign just the other day and (un)surprisingly ended up watching about half of the dual.

I was in a 50-yd line lux box in CLE with some Suckass fans. My bro and I are Penn Staters. We rammed it in their faces (it was our box). I will NEVER forget it. 1000% epic

Btw the Nickal pin of Martin or the Cenzo pin of iMar, not sure which is more epic. I totally freaked the eff out on both. I never heard the Ironhead call of the Nickal match but the call on Cenzo v iMar was, for me, up there with the Al Michaels, ‘80 USA hockey, “Do u believe in miracles?”

I can remember 2 or 3 times when I was sitting calmly and suddenly standing and screaming. When Dr. J played in the ABA, there was an all-star game between NBA and ABA players. Dr J dribbled the ball down the court and took off from the top of the key. He slammed that ball and I swear he could have dived through the net with it. I went from sitting calmly to screaming. Bo's pin of Martin was another of those moments, but with that one I was in the middle of a panic attack, thinking Bo might be planted and suddenly wrenched from agony to ecstacy. What a night!

This and Cenzo's pin are 1a and 1b for me in greatest PSU wrestling moments ... if I had to pick, I'd give the nod to Bo just because of the team implications and how quickly things went 180 whereas I felt pretty good about Cenzo winning after 2 because IMar looked GASSED.

That being said, Cenzo's pin provided a boost for Bo and Mark to win as "underdogs" which led to the "Funtastic Five" moment. I remember getting 5 in the finals was such a huge deal but only Zain and Jason were favorites actually. Cenzo was a pretty big underdog and Bo and Mark were tossups with their counterparts at best (probably a slight underdog granted I felt pretty good about Bo winning)
