I’m not a fan of making it illegal but for most it’s suboptimal and not what they should do.
I might open carry to and from the range. I’m walking to my truck and might stop at a country store right near the range. However it’s just easier to untuck my shirt a voila! Concealed .
And that’s where I see the utility . Some guy hiking, camping, working the farm or ranch and running into town in a gun friendly area. Of course a short, a jacket, or a sweatshirt solves that issue.
