WR Egbuka and RB Henderson didn't play yesterday. I'm hoping they don't play this week either. Henderson has it (if his OL can get him to the 2nd level against LBs/DBs). Egbuka is their #2 receiver. He's like Trey Wallace for us...he's #2 and there's a big dropoff to their #3 receiver (some scrub from Columbia HS). Miyan Williams is also a great RB (not at Henderson's level though) and he didn't play yesterday.

Also, their three-year starting CB Denzel Burke left Saturday with a hand injury. With our WR mediocrity, it'd be nice if he weren't out there.

Our OSU friends can probably chip in with updates for us...

Yes, we finished the game vs Purdue down our top 3 RBs, and had to play our #4 guy who had not played a snap all year. Part of that was because they want to red shirt him, which they still can. Talent wise he is closer to a #2 level RB on this team, so it is not like he is some scrub. our #4 (Hayden 4*) RB and our #5 (Evan Pryor 4*) RB are still good backs.

Our Oline is the biggest issue, as the recruiting an coaching has been a big issue the past few years. This has become very obvious this year as we can not rely on the run game to be consistent and has greatly slowed the development of our 1st year QB. Last year we had elite level OL players to go along with the other talent.

IMO , Both Egbuka and Henderson will be playing this week….and Franklin/coaches will be game planning assuming this. They may or may not be 100% , but the likelihood of them both playing is high. These games are the reason you go to a big time college.

I think Henderson plays. I have my doubts Egbuka will play. Day, at last week's press conference said his injury is not long term. My interpretation of that statement is he will miss 2-4 weeks. The bigger question is the status of DB Denzel Burke. He has played lights out this year and is one of the major reasons the defense as a whole is much improved.

We want them 100%. I hate it when they can and do use it as an excuse. 🤨
All that matters is the W. Excuses don't matter.

Nobody cares about biased officiating when it costs us big games vs. UM and OSU. Nobody cares about Mustipher and Clifford injuries when they talk about Iowa beating us in '21. Excuses don't matter.

We need this W. That's what matters.

This--while I'd always prefer both teams be at 100% that's not realistic. Next man up--find a way to win.

tOSU boards are saying Egbuka won't play. Nor will Burke, their best DB.

My guess on the big three injury concerns:

Henderson - play, most confident as he could have gone the previous two, but the team was being cautious. All signs point to him being back without limitations

Burke - 50/50, info on him is like getting anything out of Fort Knox. There isn't even agreement on what the injury is. DC Jim Knowles has been talking up his back-up, Jermaine Matthews Jr, so you can probably read the tea leaves.

Egbuka - out, Day's comments throughout the week have hinted at this, especially after practice on Wednesday night. Would be shocked if he plays and even if he does, how effective can he be?

It seems like we are 100% healthy. No injuries at all. Is that true? If so, it's astounding to have zero injuries after 6 games.

Who cares? You play the game that day and all of that day’s events. Post of life is fighting through. We’ve got issues too

This is what I've been hearing from my OSU buddies as well. They expect the RBs will be back but Egbuka and Burke to be out. They are actually more worried about Burke's absence than anyone else. Given WR isn't a strength for us that could be a huge help.

Egbuka supposedly has an ankle. If he is not close to 100%, I would hold him out. As important as this game is, 1/2 the season is still to be played. Regardless, good luck tomorrow. Toss up as I see it.

Maybe a big smokescreen - OSU doesn't release injury data until game day
Yes Day is using the OSU message boards to play possum with Franklin. Franklin game plans assuming Egbuka and Burke are out getting caught completely off guard when both play. Egbuka catches 5 td passes and Burke picks off Allar 3 times.

Franklin isn't that stupid

Boy was I wrong - all 3 won’t play (Egbuka is questionable, but really is doubtful)

Denzel Burke and TreVeyon Henderson are both out against Penn State while Emeka Egbuka is listed as questionable.

SIAP but is the injury report final? If a team lists a player as OUT, is he then ineligible to play?

Pete Thamel said Henderson is playing at the start of Gameday but Emeka and Burke most likely out.
What time does Gameday start? If it's long before kickoff, hopefully he'll be tired by the time the actual game begins.
