Looking at purchasing a 2014 Ford Fusion SE with the 2.0L turbo that I test drove yesterday. Surprisingly the wife and I were both impressed by the performance, features and comfort. Anyone have any experiences with this engine? Also, I believe the tires are P235/45R18. Being in NEPA, what's this tire like in the snow?
Appreciate any comments from the all knowing board.

We have the 2014 titanium model which is a different engine I believe though I'm not 100% sure I'm right on that... First, we've had zero issues in the snow with the car and there has been a lot of snow the last two years. I will say our car isn't the most fuel efficient, though for us that isn't a big concern. It probably averages 25 mpg in real driving. We've had zero issues so far. I really like the car and don't really have any complaints about it. BTW, the synch system for us has worked flawlessly. I know some have complained but I really like it and works well.

I own a 2014 Fusion and am very happy with it. The biggest problem it has is the small opening into the trunk. If you can keep it under 70 mph, you should get close to the 33 mpg. I just noticed that the recent sales data shows the Fusion to be the ninth best selling car in the Country.

I can't speak for snow traveling since I live in Tennessee.

My Fusion is the Titanium model and it has the two liter ecoboost engine. I believe all Titaniums have that engine and it will have the "ecoboost" shown on the right side of the deck (trunk) lid.

Fusion is a very well executed mid size car. 18" wheels may look snazzy until you get whacked when it comes time to replace the rubber (large wheels = dumbest accessory/option ever). Likewise I like sidewall on my rims come winter-time. EcoBoost is tried and true- I've driven an Ecoboost Taurus years ago and was very impressed. Though turbos are not for me as I run vehicles to 200k and Rhr notion of a high-mileage blower scares the bahjeebus out of me

Just noticed those were 45-series tires. You'd be foolish to run those in the winter. Accident waiting to happen. Solution: 16" steel wheels and size-up the winter tires to match the OEM diameter

Skinny 65/70 series ice & snows on steel rims and you'll be cruisin'

I'm leasing the '14 Fusion Energi Se....I know it's not nearly the same model, but this car is pretty great. I traded in my own '13 VW Passat TDI...I know, crazy, from a driving only standpoint. But I'm getting 55+ mpg's, 700 + mi. on a full tank ($30). I did that with the Vw (44 mpg hwy/750+ mi. Per tank) but it cost $80 to fill up the 18 gal tank. Savings on gas alone have been huge. Plus, you get an energy discounted rate at night when you're plugged in at home. I time all my major appliances to run during these extremely cheap elec rates and save hundreds on my energy bill as well.

I can run all electric at 80 mph on the hwy for nearly 30 miles if I want....or run it hybrid and avg 55-60 mpg over a full tank. Or run gas only and save the elec for when exiting and cruising around neighborhoods and street lights.

That's great to hear K. Do you live in the NE and how is it in the snow. MM gave some good advice on winter tires that I'm looking into now.

No I now live in CA but I've taken it to a Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe in a 4-6" storm with the original road cruiser tires. did just fine.
