I like to read the Cleveland Plain Dealer and many of its articles are paywalled. However, most of the time, they are also on MSN. For instance this article on the PD is paywalled. "It's ugly. It's gritty. It's the playoffs. It's the Cavs winning! – Terry Pluto" If I search for "It's ugly. It's gritty. It's the playoffs. It's the Cavs winning! – Terry Pluto MSN most of the time the article will come up in full. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/ot...-its-the-cavs-winning-terry-pluto/ar-AA1ntWnG

This seems to work on a lot of other sites. Always worth trying when an aggregator site sends you to a paywalled site.

I tend to get my news from CNN and Fox when on my phone. Back and forth. Recently CNN capped me at maybe 7 articles per day unless I sign up for some program. There is no fee- but no way I do that. So I added ABC network and local Philly to my mix instead.

The point isn't about "Fake News" or any other politically rationed thing- it simply seems to me that they identified me as a loyal customer and started to try and force me into a silo that probably has either a pay model or some sort of Opinion Polls required. That's a damned good way to lose my eyeballs.

To quote a great entertainer: Homey don't play that!

Good tip on beating paywalls.

Clear history and it will probably reset. Almost always works for me at most sites.

I do this also especially with topics that I’m very interested in.
