OT: Anybody use or know of a good text editor?

I'm getting another computer but I figure I don't need the whole Microsoft Office on both of them so I'm not going to buy it for the new computer. But I might want to type stuff on the new computer now and then. I don't need all the fancy stuff Word does but a decent text editor would be nice. Any ideas?

If you have a disk copy of office your license is good for more than one computer.
