I let the dogs out right before bed last night and was standing on my front porch and looked up briefly at the moon. I saw a light streaking across the sky, looking different than the typical airplane lights. It was a lot faster and seemed brighter but further away. Then it started getting much brighter (larger/wider trail) and then seemed to explode with no more light. The moon was so bright that I couldn't see many stars, and don't actually remember if there were any visible, but this was very obvious. I'm wondering whether instead of the usual shooting star somewhere out in space, this could have been a meteor entering earths atmosphere. Did anyone see or hear of anything like this last night or some other time?

Might have been a NoKo MIRV you observed breaking apart. They say you don't have to live in Japan to see them these days.

I did not. But Canadian news reported seeing one around 10:17 last night.
