OT: Asst. coaches, PSU non-revenue sports

Three well-regarded assistant coaches have quietly left their programs this spring: Liz McMillan with Swimming & Diving, Slava Boiko with MGYM, and Randy Bungard with Track & Field. Assistant coaches come and go, maybe a little less frequently at Penn State than at other places, and there could be any number of perfectly legitimate reasons why they left, but I just find the lack of any SID notice about it curious. Boiko was on Randy Jepson's staff for almost 20 years.

Really? PSU rarely makes any official announcements about assistant coaches leaving. Heck, very few could even name the assistant coaches at most PSU teams unless they are die-hard fans of the team.

In general, PSU only announces the hiring of new assistant coaches. I believe swimming & diving made a recent announcement about the hiring of a new assistant coach. Sometime the announcements will include a sentence or two that the new coach is replacing coach XYZ who recently left to do ABC, but that's not always the case.
