My wife's cousin Mia got the entertainment bug from the time when she was a kid. She even fronted a rap band called Squat for an album. After a few years of comedy work, she started working on an SNL skit like TV shows in Brazil. She is now under contract with Global (Brazil's version of Time Warner). On my last trip down I saw her in a theater appearance. The theater gig was based on her TV show, and was preceding her sequel to a romantic comedy that is also based on that TV show. She does the movie with a guy named Fabio Porchat, who is one of the biggest comedians in Brazil right now, the guy worked his way up from youtube self-produced content. He has a youtube skit that as as dirty and as funny as anything you will see (16 millions hits!!). Mia has had a busy year, she was on Brazil celebrity chef, and she has been co-hosting Brazil's American Idol type show for a few years. She would like to brake thru in the US.. don't know if she will, but I think Fabio will.. the kid is really driven and super-talented.
