OT: Cell Phone email question

Problem with emailing...I can receive and respond to emails but cannot initialize emails. Could this be a setting that may have somehow gotten changed or ? It would be nice to be able to send an email to someone without having to receive one from them first. Thanks for serious responses!

For starters, it is most likely human (your) error ..

have you ever been able to initiate an email with your phone?
what phone?
what email system?
what phone service?
