It amazes me the way millions of dollars get thrown around these days. I thought the same thing when it was announced that Delaney was getting a $20 mil bonus. Crazy. Some years ago Leo Raymond (think that's his name) retired as CEO of Exxon and his retirement package was an estimated $400 million. SMH. Erickson's getting $40,000 a month pension. Joyner works at PSU for ten minutes and he gets a pension. Where's all this money come from? Us, I suppose.
Nobody should blame Charlie for taking money offered to him by both Notre Dame and Kansas.AND Kansas had to pay him $5.625 Million after he was fired there, with payments ending Dec. 31, 2016.

Not many coaches have made as much money coaching, as Charlie Weis has been paid NOT to coach.
Agree. One thing I like about this story is that Charlie and his wife established a foundation Hannah & Friends, named after his autistic daughter, and for the benefit of children with developmental disorders. Let's hope a good chunk of this money has gone to the foundation.Nobody should blame Charlie for taking money offered to him by both Notre Dame and Kansas.
and the Church has more money than God, anywayThey are a private school. They don't have to explain anything to anybody.
Probably less than what they paid to hush up Declan Sullivan's and Lizzie Seeberg's families.
That's known as providing a "decided schematic advantage".AND Kansas had to pay him $5.625 Million after he was fired there, with payments ending Dec. 31, 2016.

You beat me to it...Wow that was money poorly spent. LOL.
"Decided schematic advantage" my ass.
His "Decided schematic advantage" was Tom Brady.
Perhaps ND is using the same law firm as the BOT? ticThe ND lawyers should be sued for malpractice. The buy out agreement did not even have an offset income clause. The money he was paid at Kansas did not even reduce the amount of the ND buyout. Charlie collected the full amount from both ND and Kansas. This offset income clause is pretty standard in all buyout agreements.
possiblyDang, that's even more than Charlie cost Golden Corral.
Paying a coach a lot of money doesn't guarantee success. Just ask Michigan.
And yet this is collegiate athletics with "student athletes" that are whored out for the chosen few to make insane amounts of money. It's freaking sick.Goes to show you how much money the sports really generates.
