OT Deer Hunting Blinds

I'm looking at deer hunting blinds. Has anyone here had any experience with the 360 Series deer blind?

No but I’ve used Ameristep and several other brands over the years. Always have believed that lighter and simpler is better and have always had my best luck when I put the blind up well in advance (weeks or a couple of months) before hunting it. Always found that they worked much better when hidden or camouflaged in brush.

Ditto that. Deer know every inch of their home terrain. Put it up a couple months in advance.

Not a fan of blinds personally. I’m a saddle hunter. Tethrd phantom, predatorXL platform and lone wolf sticks put me in any tree anywhere and is public land legal.

I was wondering why the prices were not listed on the website you linked. Holee $%*#!!!

Yes, over the last 5 years we (our hunting camp) have had at least 12 of them (or of similar varienty) installed near our food plots (fields) over our 2600 acres and we love them. The first wave we put in ourselves and they may have been built locally. But the last 4 we put in were like those in this link and were installed elevated on the metal platforms shown in one of the pictures, and that is a big advantage for visibility.

I wouldn't put one up the day before hunting season, but I believe the game do ignore them pretty soon after they show up.

I don't turkey hunt from a blind, but some of the guys have shot turkeys from them as well. And bear..... One of the guys called in a turkey from one of them and his 10 year old grandson shot it with a 20 gauge single shot in the special PA young hunters season about a month ago......

I got one last year at our hunting cabin and had it installed on our pipeline in August. The windows are weighted and slide easily and quietly. I got mine from Black Creek Enterprises in Liberty, PA. You can put them up yourself, however for $300 they can set them up and it is well worth it.

I was going to suggest that too! Although I'm an ole guy I still climb. I'd pulled a muscle two years ago but could still draw my bow, but climbing with my climber was a killer. Anyway, I set mine out long term that season. Hunt out my "back door" as live on edge of city limits, so it was no big deal since no one ever, ever is back there! No place to park except on our street and nearest road, down a ridge and back up one to get here. I'm sure "steps wise" at at least half if not a mile! Admit I would be reluctant to leave out where other hunters hunt. Only takes one dishonest person. Most seasons I leave my climber on a tree and just cover it with a garbage bag. Of course move to different trees if I feel the need. Best guy from back there an "eleven" (it had a sticker for #11) with the ole Mathews! The past 2/3 months I have seen a 12 bird flock and a
nine bird gobbler flock pass (on way to city woods) between our house and next house at LEAST 3/4 X/week. However, have not seen for a about ten days though. Obviously, many hours in the day so when I have seen just good luck!

Find an old Combine Cab and mount it in a tree. That is what my father in-law has used. He loves to repurpose auction items...

Not his, but you get the idea.

Haven't used anything that fancy. We use standard fabric ground blinds with mesh screens for crossbow hunting. I was planning to buy some materials and build a few myself this year, but if lumber prices don't change that may have to wait a year.

When I moved here 20 + years ago, I built two wooden stands that are sort of like lifeguard stands. No roof, not enclosed, room for a seat, obscured/broken up by limbs in the trees, and lattice work to break up the human outline.

I have shot deer at almost 360 degrees around them, the only exception being generous "no fire" zones to avoid shooting at my neighbors' house, and my own.

I don't remember what they cost, but it damn sure wasn't 2 grand apiece.
