OT: Desperate Dolphins sign Human Turnover Machine instead of Kap

P26Qt7U-628x354.jpg

Not photoshopped...

.... and signing Kap would not have been an act of desperation?

Kap or Jay Cutler. That decision reminds me of that old saying "Two wrongs do not make a right ".

There is no correct answer between those 2.

If I were a Dolphin fan, I would have actually preferred if the team just decided to go with what they already had. Kind of throw in the towel for the 2017 season and bank a high draft pick next April. All either Kap or Cutler are going to do for you is eek you out maybe 7 or 8 wins and put you right smack dab in the middle of mediocrity.

always nice to find a Bills rival I can hate even more!

Kap is an awful quarterback. There's a reason the 49ers benched him in lieu of journeymen and even worse and.

Remember his benching was before his protests.

If they never benched him for his suckiness he never protests. He never protests no-one cares.

It's a myth that Kap can't play.

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/6530/colin-kaepernick

19 Td's last year 4 it's, completion percentage near 60, still gaining rushing yards and Td's.

Juxtapose with Ryan Tannehill.

19 Tds, 12 ints.

If you want to talk about the host of other issues that come with Kap, I'm all ears, but he can still play effectively. He just did.

Totally agree. The problem is that Kap didn't realize the industry he is working is in the entertainment industry. His lack of marketing appeal outweighs is ability to play. And, regardless of how you feel about his right to protest, if you go into your place of work and start evangelizing for any specific controversial issue, you won't be there long.

His GF didn't do him any favors with the Ravens. When it came out that the GM and coach wanted him but the owner was hesitant, she posted a picture of a slave owner hugging a slave from the movie Django Unchained alongside the owner hugging Ray Lewis.

How many wins?

How many yards per game?

The point is that he can still be effective.

The number of wins the worst roster and team in the NFL had last year is not indicative of his individual ability. Does Navarro Bowman also suck?

The argument that these two and others were still effective despite the circumstances of way to make if you're actually objectives about it.

I don't know of many that are arguing otherwise. I mean, would you rather have Jay Cutler or Kap? But its not about football ability. Now, if it was Tom Brady or Aaron Rogers it would be a different story. But Kap's downsides, in an entertainment industry, are outweighing his upside (so far).

I am objective I saw him play.

He is terrible.

Those stats are extremely deceiving which is why he hasn't been picked up.

More like choosing between cancer and a heart attack. Go to the Arena League and try to find the next Kurt Warner. Don't choose between two mediocre QB's that have already proven their mediocrity.

kaepernick or cutler? I'd have to go with kaepernick for the OUTRAGE. . He brings it and elicits it. Win-win, even if he loses.

Living here in south FL Kaps comments praising Fidel Castro have not been forgotten by many locals. The owner would have had to deal with some big backlash if he signed Kap. So he had to weigh that along with everything else when choosing between Cutler and Kap

I've read that in Baltimore, with so much unrest, there was consideration given to what would happen if Flacco had a bad stretch or Kap ended up being third string and they started the second stringer over Kap. They didn't want to create dissension in the fan base or on the field.

The 49ers went 2-10 and averaged less than 19 ppg with Kaep as a starter in 2016.

Didn't he also where a Fidel Castro shirt? I'm sure that will be very popular at work. I don't remember anyone ever in corporate that I worked for 25 years spouting off their political views. he should of focused on his game. He may get another chance I hope he makes the best of it.

His GF has been the problem from the start.

Yea I have to pretty much agree with this.
If he could play he would be. Look at some of the other players that have ability but can't keep their mouth off the weed or their fists off anyone else. They are signed and given a bonus.
And all those Raven fans that opposed signing him, I guarantee if he would lead the Ravens in a come from behind win or throws the winning TD pass against The Steelers all will be and would be forgiven....until he throws his next INT.

Ray Lewis and Ray Rice . . . 2 points of evidence that Ravens fans embrace thugs and women abusers

LOL, I keep hearing this term "snowflake" bandied about by that group. Its funny though as soon as something doesn't go their way they are all crying and "melting" in the sun. Maybe they need a "safe" board. LOL.
"that group," "their way," "they are ALL crying," "they need a safe board." One person expressed his opinion, and this is the response. I'm not surprised, just making an observation . . .

and these fanatics would still take a serial rapist over a guy who speaks out on behalf of his community

I am not sure who is a "serial rapist", but the ongoing nature of Kap's protests are hurting him. At least with Lewis and Ben it was a 'one time thing' (that we know of). With Kap, and you may have seen my post where his GF implied the owner of the Ravens was a slave owner, it appears to be never ending.

free speech is not a crime. and Big Ben had multiple incidents.

point being, there are NUMEROUS guys who committed crimes and were then embraced by the NFL and their fans. as long as those crimes are limited to domestic abuse, rape, dog fighting, and things many "true blooded" Americans can stomach over having their precious view of authority challenged . . .

That is correct, it is not a crime. And Kap hasn't been thrown in jail. Try doing what he did at your place of business and see how long you last.

But that's not the worst of it. He keeps doing it. With domestic violence, its pretty much suspension and done. Few players last beyond their first offense.

His GF posted this picture a few days ago:

The top photo is the Ravens owner and Ray Lewis. The bottom is from Djago Unchained and shows the slave hugging the slave owner. Not very subtle.

Maybe....but is there any question now, in your mind, why the Ravens haven't signed him? Do you think other owners paid attention? Do you think this photo may have played a part in the Dolphin's decision?

I've worked for owners I liked and ones I didn't like. If I disparaged any of them, privately let along publicly, rest assured I'd no longer be employed.

Kaperclown has really made himself unemployable in his line of business. He is a huge risk. He turns many fans away and he turns attention in the locker room away from football. What owner wants to take a risk on a borderline player who is going to turn away some portion of their fanbase and distract his team from football?

^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^

Besides, none of it matters.
NFL teams are in the business of selling tickets, merchandise and attracting eyeballs to the TV.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, his actions alienate at least half the customer base of the NFL.
Kap is not Tom Brady. He's not even Michael Vick and his potential contribution is not worth the potential risk to the bottom line from pissing off your customers.
If he didn't use his employer to make a political point, he'd have a job. The guy is a moron and did it to himself.

The guy is a moron and he did it to himself.

All I know is my FIL is super happy no one is signing Kap; even though he's been in a funk ever since repeal and replace failed. Like the Eagles lost the Super Bowl or sometbing.

There was ONLY one Muhammad Ali. EVERYONE else should keep their mouth SHUT !!!!!

Jay Cutler not vaccinating his children is a bigger danger than Colin Kaepernick's opinions. My $0.02.

LOL...the two issues are kind of unrelated. Does Culter have a banner or sit during timeouts to protest vaccinations? If Kaep spoke out, on his own time, he'd be playing today IMHO.

Regardless, JC is married to Kristen Cavallari...I am betting she's far out there on the "Crazy/Hot" scale.

Nah, Jay doesn't have a banner or sit during time outs to protest vaccinations, his kids just expose other kids to measles, mumps, chicken pox.
If Kristen Cavallari floats you boat Go for it, but it sure looks like the carpet ain't going to match the drapes.
