I work with a guy who is really into scifi and he and some friends have realistic (authentic?) storm trooper outfits. I'm sure that they get enjoyment out of wearing them, but they also go to comic con and raise money for charity by having people pay to take photos with them. They may be geeks, but they have hearts of gold!

Some of the authentic costumes and replicas are worth some $$$$. I'm not talking Party City and similar cheapos, but the real and real replica items.


I don't know if kids were scared, or the school was trying to be PC. Any adult or teacher who didn't know what the get up was is a real idiot.
