After leading the British Open near the midway point, DJ is now tied for 50th place.

I thought it would have been a great story if DJ could win the British after his heartbreaking loss in the US Open. But it appears that he just doesn't have the mental fortitude that some of the other top golfers have. He has plenty of talent, so maybe that will push him through to winning a major eventually. So far, he appears to be the Jay Cutler of golf.

He was never able to recover from having his ball unfairly blown off the 14th green by the wind. ;)

It is pretty darn hard to win a golf tournament enytime let alone when all the heavy hitters are in the field. Look at the active guys on the career wins list. Jim Furyk has been a pretty successfuk guy and he only has 17 career wins. Garcia only has 8 wins. It really puts into perspective the 79 wins that Woods has.

So....I am at work and have zero access to any live streaming on the computer (blocked). Can someone post when the Open is finished so I know who won? It should be winding down pretty soon.

At the moment 3 leaders are tied at - 15 : Zac Johnson in the club house, Lieshman on 17 & Speith on 16 2 others at - 14 , still on the course: Day & Oosthizen

Jason Day - no bogeys, but only 2 birdies. He had 16 pars, including the last 12 holes.

Zach Johnson is the Open champion.

DJ was officially "tragic" after the US Open. He continues to be. Still remarkably talented and young enough to recover but ........it is a shame. Could have excelled in any team sport. That is not golf, unfortunately. No place to hide. Just tragic.

I don't think it's tragic at all. This is the third major he's kicked away. Dude does not care. He's making plenty of money for the party lifestyle, that's all he cares about.

If DJ wasn't a pro golfer, he'd be collecting your recyclables at 0600 every Thursday morning.

Zach J was indeed a humble, worthy champion for the great tournament. That putt he hit on the last regulation hole was as clutch as it gets. He was visibly awestruck with the whole affair. He has a new fan here, although I admit I was rooting for Spieth. I would have been good with any of the last 3 guys.

You could say it's his fourth he's blown. He grounded a club at the PGA in a trap to kick one, and he gave away 2 US Opens, and now had a share of the lead going into the 3rd rd of the British Open and finished what, 50th? He has too much talent to not get one eventually, you figure he'll trip over a sprinkler and land on a major eventually. Zach is 39, same age as Woods and he's winning a major, how old is DJ, ten years younger or so? Then again it can be hard to shake if he goes into rounds thinking "How am I going to kick this one?"
