The score was 2-1. The archipelago has a population of about 50,000, which makes a victory over an established European soccer country of much larger population highly improbable. Do you know where the islands are? I didn't, and had to look it up.

I knew only because of Germany's battleship Bismarck - Britian's battleship Hood history in that area.

I had just read a story on the BBC a few days ago about foreigners (including 1 American) who play for teams on the islands.

Good for them

Go see your fish monger and buy a couple of Faroe Island Salmon filets. Wild caught, sustainable. Also, they use practically nothing but wind power. Cool little place, I would like to visit sometime.

This is where Cynthia Baldwin plans to flee after she is flushed out of Turks and Caicos.

As I was watching the Slovenia - England match yesterday, the announcers mentioned that 53 "countries" were competing in the Euro qualifying. Not sure that I could name them all ... actually I'm certain that I can't.

Not their first scalp either. They actually beat Austria in their first competitive game (i.e. part of a competition) in 1990--on the road in Sweden as they did not have a grass field at the time.
