In Franklin's Career. I am a coaching search, fill the staff nerd. I study different assistants around the country (i know, im a loser lol) but if, IF Rahne stays on staff, Franklin must do some re shuffling of the staff to help Rahne build his own style of offense. If you look around the nation, there are alot of assistant coaches with boat loads of experience coaching offense that may be looking for new jobs. I look at Maryland, no fault of coaches there now but they are cleaning house. I also look at a program like louisville, spread power team. Petrino looks like hes done. Here are staff moves that i though of which by no means am I any type of expert. I just have fun with it.
Coaches not retained by PSU- Matt Limegrover, Phil Galiano
Re-shuffling of staff- David Cornley to ST coach. He has coached ST in past.
New Hires- OL Bryan Stinespring(UMD OL), long time OC at Vtech. OL coach by trade. Exp to help Rahne, grizzly vet. In game adjustments are one of his best assets historically. Knows his role as an assistant. Good experience to lean on for franklin and Rahne. He has been around the block.
WR/Ass OC- Lonnie Galloway (louisville OC/WR) tons of experience with the spread/power spread attack from WVU and louisville. 20+ years developing WR and had a big impact on the implementation of spread offense at WVU.
Surround Rahne with coaches who can help him create his identity as a OC. Right now we are so green in the offensive room. Limegrover coached a power running team at Minn who had no athletes. No other coach on offense has any experience coaching or calling plays in the spread. I believe taking these steps for Rahne and PSU would be beneficial for all parties. It could also be a safety net for Franklin should Rahne eventually not be retained. We need vet coaches, we have enough recruiters.
I know these next 3 games are important and i am by no means throwing in the towel, but in order for us to move forward and improve our system, i believe these moves or similar ones would help immensely in our climb to the top.
Just for fun! If you get butt hurt, sorry. FC.
