My wife has always wanted to go to a little league world series game, and we are thinking about maybe next weekend. She looked on line and it said that the tickets are free, first come first served. Is that really the case, or are the tickets reserved for the family and friends of the teams playing? Also, I'm interested in seats in the stands/bleachers... I'm too old to sit on the grass for that long.

What other advise do you guys have relative to going to a LLWS game?

Have fun Dan!!!

Personally you couldn't pay me to watch that crap. It was about the kids and having fun once. Now about winning, cheating, and ESPiN

Free admission to all. They do "pass the hat" during the game for voluntary donations. I wouldn't worry about sitting in the grass if you get to the game early enough, however they do permit lawn chairs beyond the outfield fences if I remember correctly. (Just be cautious of the kids who use improvised cardboard sleds to ride down the grass and dirt hills ;)) I highly recommend going to the LLWS at least once in anyone's life. Good thing to cross-off a bucket list.

It's fantastic. I grew up there and have been going for 30 years. They don't allow you to take anything in with you, but prices are reasonable. You can sit in bleachers during the week without any problems finding a seat. On weekends, it's better to take chairs. Parking is free below the stadium off route 15 and they shuttle you to the entrance. Enjoy.

I went a couple times when my son was playing LL. I think it's one of the most exciting things a sports fan can do. It's an MLB atmosphere. Two best things: Free admission and reasonably priced concessions (at least about 18 years ago). Walk by the dorms and watch the kids from different countries intermingle and have fun around the pool. What an experience the WS must be for an 11/12 year old! If you go the night before, find the location where the pin traders convene. Some LLs commission nice pins which holders trade with one another. If you can get some yourself ahead of your trip, you can partake in the trading. It's fun, especially if you're taking a youngster with you. If you don't have LL pins, you might be able to trade for non-baseball ones. For example, military coins and professional organization pins. Don't hesitate; take your wife and have a blast. Post-trip report, please.

My grandparents lived about four blocks from the old location.....went to several games back in the mid-1950s.

Also spent many nights with my grandfather watching the Phillies' minor leaguers play right across the street. Fun with billboards all around the outfield and losing the outfielders as the sun faded and night settled in - the lighting was I think a few 60 watt bulbs and most were burned out!

You should have a great time. Food prices are reasonable.Multiple games virtually every day.
Hotels maybe difficult to get nearby. lmk if you need more info than provided here,I work in Williamsport and company I work for provides service to the LLWS.

All is true. Great experience. As the games get more important later in the tournament tickets are harder to get and reserved seating is usually gobbled up the prior January. But it is a great time in town and the surrounding area. Make sure you visit the Original Little League to see where it all started and take a visit around Millionaires Row to see the homes built during the lumber boom when Williamsport was the lumber capital of the world. The parade draws as many people that live in the whole town on one evening downtown. A couple more hotels have been built the last few years because of the natural gas boom so rooms aren't near as hard to get as they used to be.
