OT: Goodbye Flash, I mean Splash, Mountain

I am hearing you are no longer going to be able to tie up your boat at the dock. Anyone hear this? I had no idea Splash Mountain was associated with a movie or anything else other than a water ride. Made sense, right? A mountain that you slide down and splashes.

I'm shocked it took the recent BLM movement to get them to change it. That ride made me pretty uncomfortable last time I was there.
It's a good thing renaming stuff and removing statues is the #1 way to end racism.

The problem with this is that a Movie that I could care less about is now on my radar as something I should watch just to see what all the "fuss" is about.
What's next? "Snow" "White" and the Seven "Dwarfs"? No way do I want to be stereotyped if I'm a dwarf. It's not their fault they are short and goofy looking!!!

The "Chicks" part is more offensive than the "Dixie" part.

If ya’ll can’t understand why it might not be the best idea to have a ride based on characters from “The Song of the South” at Disney in 2020 I’d suggest a rewatch of the ride.
I mean even if you don’t agree with the blm movement the ride itself is really cringe inducing imo.

With all that moving water and banjo music, they could easily change it into a "Deliverance"-themed ride. I picture animatronics of that inbred kid in the tree, a fat guy squealing like a pig, and at the end you float through a big, purdy mouth.
They can handle change, they just can’t handle everything being changed for nonsense reasons.
I don’t think a 2nd terms gonna fix it but we shall see!

I am morally torn regarding both Splash Mountain and the Dixie Chicks. I can’t decide which of them I give less of a f#@k about.
