You need to stop the lisinopril and call your doctor immediately. ACE inhibitor induced angioedema can be serious.
I told him that yesterday. I had an ER visit as a result. Had been taking Lisinopril for eight years before it happened.

Google Oral Allergy Syndrome. Similar to peanut allergy. I was same as you. Mid 20s started getting reaction to apples, peaches, etc. OAS is impacting many people. Likely because the genetic make-up of food has changed. If you got to Costa Rica or similar country and eat fruit you will not get the reaction. Crazy....
Did you nick yourself shaving? It could be cellulitis. No, no fisticuffs were involved. It's just my upper lip and it's swollen to about 4x it's normal size. No pain, minor numbness. Been taking antihistamines to try and bring it down, but I didn't do or consume anything abnormal yesterday. Had a similar case once before, but not nearly to this extreme. I look like Howard the Duck.
Anyone else ever experience this, or do you know someone who has? Any advice welcome. The internet was of little to no help. Putting on some cold compresses now.

Update: 24 hours later, after persistent antihistamine and ice applications, it's almost completely down. I appreciate all the advice (both serious and humorous). I would have been headed to the doctor this morning if there had been little or no change. Hopefully it will be completely gone by day's end.
Yes, please don't mess around with such random symptoms.GLad it went down, but you should call your cardio doc or primary doc and let him know what happened. It could happen again and be much worse. Next time it could be your tongue, cheeks, throat, or all. Mention your Lisinopril.
Happened to me once a long time ago. Swelling went down over the course of the day. I figured spider bite, but don't know for sure. Could not see bite marks.Great minds think alike.
Good question. I hope he gives us an update. Ah, I see he did, a bit earlier, and I missed it. Good news.Happened to me once a long time ago. Swelling went down over the course of the day. I figured spider bite, but don't know for sure. Could not see bite marks.
How is op'er today?
The danger of using the razor the wife uses on her legs!
Several of you guys called it - angioedema. I was "fine" (lip swelling all but gone) when I woke up yesterday and went about my day. As I was mowing my 3 acres during the afternoon, I developed what felt like a severe sore throat. When I finished and went to take a shower, I saw my cheeks had swollen, along with my throat and back of my tongue. By the time I finished the shower around 6pm, I was starting to have trouble speaking, swallowing and was working to breathe, so I headed to the hospital ER. Got there about 6:50 and could barely speak. I was quickly admitted and administered IV steroids and an EPIPEN to my thigh. I remained there for about 3 1/2 hours for observation. Showed them my pic from Friday and they confirmed the diagnosis. My uvula was blown up like a balloon.
Big life lesson learned. I'm reluctant to head for medical help at the first sign of a symptom, but this was as close to any life threatening experience I've ever had. Had been on Lisinipril for at least 4 years, but that was the culprit. I'l be taking meds for the next 5 days to eliminate any residue in my system.
Your posts were booming in my head when I realized what was happening. Thank you for your responses.
(all better now)
I have had 2 basal cell cancers removed (neck and back) without incident, using just a local anesthesia. Both were larger than what you describe. Both were superficial. You are doing the right thing having it checked out. If it is basal it is easily treated. If it's something less, you will have peace of mind. Best wishes for a quick resolution.Ok, so a bevy of health observations here, may I switch gears. A week to perhaps 10 days ago I take my pants off and there is a small (pencil eraser or slightly smaller) area that appeared like I ran into something and it cut may skin. It is irregular with a light red round ring around it like there is a little infection. I throw some liquid bandage on it since it has antiseptic in it too. I'm confused as to whether I am now seeing a scab or the crust of a basal cell carcinoma. Before this scab, at one point I could see it was cut or eroded at least 1/32" deep. My wife thinks it is just a scab. It isn't the liquid bandage as I have not used it since and showered every night. I have two questions before I go to a doc. If you have had this, did it just manifest itself like I described, suddenly a 1/4" site and if it is bcc, would it have eroded that deep, that fast. From what I've read it is very treatable, just don't ignore it. Thank you!
My guess would be an insect bite of some type.
I've not had direct confirmation but I"ve been told those little asian lady bug looking beetles that get into the cracks of your house in the fall will bite.
