OT - How useless is a police report without a license plate number?

Long story short, some guy was pissed off at me, brake checked me across two towns, then pulled up beside me at a light and threatened me. I tried to flag down an officer on the opposite side, but he didn't see me. I have a goid description of his car and appearence, but no license playe number. Should I even bother?

I get your frustration but without a plate number there's not a whole lot the cops can do to find the guy.

Was in unmarked interceptor. Crossing local bridge, I look in mirror and guy is closing fast. Roars around, gives me the finger. Takes off ramp on two wheels, literally. I get the ass pulled over, and he stated "I thought you were someone I hated".

I don't know, maybe I'm a p*ssy, but if a guy brake checks me on purpose, then it wouldn't happen again. I'd give him a few extra car lengths.....

Oh believe me when I saw that I'm as non-confrontational as they come (outside of the Internet), and that I would have done the same thing. Unfortunately, this wasn't an option thanks to traffic congestion.
