OT I am so tried of Deflategate, but why was a Kicker, Jay Feely at the hearing Monday

could be something to that. Hit the link. Long and short of it, they caught the equipment man doing something to the kicking balls, and punished the equipment man, not the player. So I guess that's why he was in the judges chambers on Monday. Looks to me, Brady is playing! This has taken way too long!!!

It would have been over a long time ago if Brady hadn't sued. Everyone keeps blaming RG and the NFL, but it was Brady that extended it.

As far as I am concerned no low level equipment man is acting on his own. Whether it be a kicking ball, regular game ball, applying stick'um to gloves, or whatever. Those guys are being directed by players, and if they take it to the head coach and he isn't saying to tell the players to pound sand then the whole organization (coach and players) need to be disciplined. Is it a big deal? No, but you can't pick and choose how to enforce intentional skirting of the rules.

Yeah, the tea leaves indicate the judge will let Brady skate on this. The fact that Brady won't compromise on the length of the suspension is telling. It is disappointing because it is so obvious that Brady and/or a coach were involved in this. The NFL has everything but the smoking gun, the text where Brady asks or directs the equipment guy to deflate the balls.

Well if the NFL was willing to compromise after being beat up by the judge and Brady then tells him he won't compromise, there is always the chance that the judge upholds the suspension. I haven't been following this too closely, but it sounds like the NFL screwed up by not allowing Brady's lawyers to call or cross-examine certain league witnesses which, if true, is one of the very limited grounds which would permit the judge to vacate the arbitration decision. Parenthetically, anyone who thinks the ball boys deflated the balls on their own also believes the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus are real.
