Big heavy bastards from the Wye and Chester Rivers. Have had probably a bushel each in excess of 8 inches. Some good eatin for sure. My favorite meal of all. Thinking of steaming some up for the Temple tailgate if they are still running good. If you see a bunch of fools smashing crabs with mallets, say hello and stop for a pop.

Really? That's good news.

Pair them with some Flying Dog Dead Rise. Beer flavored with Old Bay Seasoning. Sounds horrible, but it isn't.

Flying Dog started in Aspen, CO. When demand exceeded production capability in Aspen, they opened a limited production facility in Denver near Coors Field. It closed in 2008 when all production was moved to Maryland. I have a Flying Dog tee. One of my favorites. When wearing it in line with people behind me there are some gasps. They are known for their "scandalous" beer names and labels.

I did not know that about their history. Their red ale, sublime. Yeah, the label artwork is really cool.

The artwork on Flying Dog bottles is by Ralph Steadman, Hunter Thompson protege and the artist who did some of Thompson's book covers. His drawings in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas are classics. He even did a cover for 70's/80's prog/pop band, Ambrosia!

Yes, Raging Bitch was one. They were banned from sales in several states, including Colorado. My tee has "Good Beer, No Sh$t" on the back, hence the gasps. Flying Dog with that saying on its label was banned for several years,
