There are many interviews from past champions that speak out regarding todays bodybuilding (or as Arnold once quipped, bodydestroying). Bodybuilders today seek the "quick" route and within a few short years develop the same "cookie-cutter" physiques as the bodybuilders they admire. It's sad. The IFBB is dead. The "art" of Bodybuilding is gone.
I think I mentioned to you, I only have framed pictures of John Grimek, Steve Reeves, Dan Lurie and Vince Gironda in my Den and Garage/gym. These were and are the "true" Champions of Bodybuilding. Let's not forget, the equipment they used, too, were primitive. Yet, they succeeded.
If anyone reading this thread is interested, I think the death of the IFBB opens the door of opportunity. With the right investors, a new "natural" league could emerge under proper leadership and become a huge money maker. I would be very interested in discussions to create such a business. Although I have the vision and drive, I lack the investors. But, I am committed if anyone is interested.
*On a side note, I recently know of someone who died. My intuition was that it was related to HGH/Steroids. He was a bouncer at my favorite watering hole.
