OT: "Mad Max, Fury Road" is already at 98% tomatometer, 60 reviews.

definitely looking forward to seeing this. George Miller is a true visionary filmmaker, and the trailers have been breathtaking.

George Miller (a man, apparently) brought in Eve Ensler to consult on how women would react to post apocalypse trauma/sex slavery . . . you know, to make the film emotionally authentic. and apparently he also blows up a lot of sh*t.

and some men feel threatened by this. men with big trucks and small . . . minds

Me and co-workers can't wait to go see it. We are bummed it isn't at our local imax (Avengers and then the Dino reboot). It would be great if Mel and Tina made cameos but from what I understand they were asked and weren't interested. The trailers have been awesome. Love the concept.

I was wondering how well it would be received, didn't expect this positive of a critical response. Guess I'll put it on my "to see" list.

Wasn't sure how good/bad this would be. But 99% out of 100 reviewers now. Holy hell. Yeah, ok...NOW I'm gonna have to see it.

The Avengers started out at ~90% and dropped down to 75% and I still loved it. I can't remmeber 99% (with 100 reviews) in a long time.

And I find RT to be a pretty good predictor. Wisdom of Crowds and all.

Last 99% on this big of a release I can recall was Selma this winter. Agree it's usually a good indicator, I've yet to be led astray by a 90%+ RT score on a wide release.

In the Keys reading an interview with Charlize in Esquire and she talks a bit about how tense things were on set with Tom Hardy. They didn't play well together apparently but it seems that only elevated their performances. I the interview Charlize mentions Hardy left her a self portrait he painted with a red hand print on the back and the inscription - 'You're a nightmare, BUT you're also f*****g awesome. I'll sort of miss you.' LOL.

Sidebar: Watched 'Interstellar' on the flight down - um, yeah...

Well, HELL. As a fan of all of Christopher Nolan's movies, I insist you start a new thread.

And one for Inception if we're gonna squabble like the geek bitches that we are.

Will do a new thread and proper deep dive when I get back from vacation. Still trying to process Interstellar...

just saw it . . . PHENOMENAL! I won't spoil it.

but I will say if you see this movie as "pro-feminism" because the female characters set the action in motion by fleeing an abusive leader who uses them as sex slaves and breeders . . . uhm you got problems. and some clear inadequacy issues.

Saw it myself over the weekend. The character of Nuk, memorable; without him, it's much more of a feminist movie, with him you see what's really important.

Nicolas Hoult was amazing, I didn't want to get too deep into his character arc, but his physical presence was a sight to behold.

as was the guitar dude :D

First time in a long time of movie watching that i never looked at my watch. The two hours flew by.

Great movie and looking foward to Mad Max: Wasteland.
