OT: MH370 debris confirmed....

That will give some closure to families, I hope. But I still doubt they will ever find it (though they *did* find Gus Grissom's Liberty Bell 7).

I understand that they had to analyze the flaperon to confirm that it was from MH370, but it really had to be since no other 777s were missing.

I heard an interesting report from BBC via NPR this morning. Guy in an interview says that besides looking at the part itself, they are looking at the species of barnacle found on it. He stated that this region is right on the boundary where between warmer water flows and colder water flows, and that different species would be found depending on which flow brought it in. Then, the could extrapolate backwards to see where it came from.

Judging by the size, it is apparent the plane came down for a soft landing. I maintain, the crew recognized a regular chinese courier on that flight. They gassed everyone during the flight while wearing oxygen masks. After everyone was dead, they cut the couriers arm off attached by handcuff to the briefcase containing cash, diamonds or both.

They then soft landed the plane which broke up a bit and jumped on a get away boat. All are living happily as millionaires somewhere.

As far as conspiracy theories that are purported on this board --- this theory is among the more believable :)

As for Malaysia 370, I've always thought on-board electrical fire, knocked out the communication system. We'll likely never know for sure though.

I recently transitioned to the B-777 and did my training with Boeing instructors. One of these instructors had a very plausible theory involved the pilot/pilots pulling a DB Cooper.

I recently read an internet report that islanders had been seeing debris for awhile but didn't know anything of a wreck so they just burned the debris. Luggage, clothing, seats, plane parts. What is somewhat suspicious about the object is where its been photographed. Not on a beach but on a lawn. Didn't appear the tide could wash it up there because I didn't notice any surf in the shots which you think you would. The escapade is so mysterous and it will be the modern day version of the Titanic. Come to think of it, where is Ballard when you need him.
