Is there some reason the NFL has toned the pink apparel this year? Seems drastically different from prior years when every player had something pink on........

The NFL use to have a breast cancer campaign in October. Pink is the color that has been adopted for breast cancer campaigns, so it made sense that the NFL used pink in some manner during October.

Devon Still is, to a large extent, responsible for the NFL changing their policy. During 2014, when Leah Still was undergoing her battle with cancer, Devon suggested to Roger Goodell that the league consider expanding its focus from breast cancer to other types of cancer as well.

The NFL adopted that suggestion starting this season. Now each team choses its own cancer cause to support during a 3-week window in October. Teams can also focus on multiple types of cancer, and also have the option of switching their focus each season.

As different types of cancer causes have different colors associated with them, you may see a variety of colors worn by teams during the October window.

Thanks Tom - Didn't know they changed it up. I did notice the "crucial catch" logos near the end zones.
