wanted to check the line on PSU, saw we are favored by 2 tonight

seems reasonable

then I checked the odds for the Final Four.

Meat Chicken is -6 against Loyola-Chicago?

Kansas is -5 against Villanova??

(UPDATE! Vegas Insider had the line listed wrong. Hence my confusion. It has since been corrected to Nova -5)

can someone explain either of these lines to me?

I do love the KS/NOVA over 154 points though . . .

Bet your house on Michigan. Loyola's bubble is going to burst on Saturday.

not sure I get it.

Loyola's path has gone through a 6 seed, 3 seed, 7 seed, and 9 seed to win the region

MI has gone through 14, 6, 7, 9

they seem pretty even up

Villanova is the favorite, not Kansas and seeing it at 5 1/2 at the moment.

I can definitely see Loyola hanging in that game, especially if they can frustrate Michigan like they frustrated K State. If they keep playing their fundamental basketball and make the extra pass and knock down the open jumpers, they could pull off another win.

As for Game 2, I think that number is a bit high. I could see KU/Nova being just as good as the KU/Duke game was on Sunday. For the line to be two possessions, it gives a ton of credit to what Nova has done over the last 3 seasons.

lol just noticed vegas insider had it posted incorrectly and they updated the lines.

still seems way high.

Just my opinion from watching Loyola and Michigan play. Loyola has won 3 games by a total of 4 points. I think they were really lucky. Their players don't seem nearly as athletic as Michigan's players. Michigan has a really talented coach. I predict Michigan blows them out. Just my opinion.

And beat Kansas State in a REGIONAL FINAL by 16 points (and had a lead of 21 at one point). They certainly didn't look like they had the same athleticism as Miami, Tennessee, or Nevada either but they sent them to the sideline. Why? Because unlike most teams who do a ton of dribble one-on-one and chuck up 3s, they actually execute multiple halfcourt offenses for layups or open jumpers off an extra pass. If you want to watch basketball played the right way, watch them on a loop...especially that 2nd half against Nevada when they opened 13 for 13 from the field, over half of those on layups. That's not lucky.

Loyola has a pretty high offensive efficiency, and one of the slowest offensive sets in the NCAA.

If they slow this game down to a chippy fight for points, scoring in the high 50s/low 60s, I think Loyola squeaks out a win

We'll see on Saturday. I think luck played a factor. You don't - maybe you are right. I'm not saying they are terrible. I just think Michigan will dominate them physically.

I watched K-St play 5-6 times this year. Their best player sat out the Loyola game (bad foot) but still thought they would win.

Watched the Loyola game start to finish, it was no fluke. Loyola played very very well. Balanced, unselfish, fundamentally sound, good shooters. A fun team to watch.

UMich (along with ‘Nova) is playing as good on D as anyone in the country right now.....and is very physical..... but if Loyola plays like they did vs K-St, they’re gonna win Sat night.

Penn State opens as a 4 point fave over Utah . . .

That sounds about right, but it wouldn't surprise me if Penn State covers that number. Although this isn't one of Utah's best squads in recent years, the teams are pretty even. Penn State has more talent, Utah has better coaching.

But the crowd at MSG is going to be rocking. You might hear it said tonight that "it will be like a home game for Penn State". It will actually be a much better home court advantage than being a home game for Penn State.

I think Michigan has the edge, by a razor thin one. This Loyola team believes they can win it all. On the other side I think Kansas is going to give Villanova everything they can handle.
