Coincidence that two of the top three towns also sport Pitt branch campuses? I think not
I have no problem with you posting it. You didn't write it. I was unaware of it, and the only way to deal with this type of garbage is to attack it head on. McKees Rocks has had some hard times but is still filled with a lot of great people, some of whom I call friends. I intend to deal with this further at some future time, but as I said, I am headed to a meeting so cannot do it now.I would hope that it's understood that I posted this in jest. Geez, I'm not trying to start a race war here. Most of us have areas near us that are "ghetto" or "PWTy."
Take this racist tripe to the test board.
Seriously though, I know a lot of towns which could quality for the top ten. What's funny is that if you click the link for the "most ghetto" cities, some places appear on both. Diversity awards go to Shamokin, McKees Rocks, and York.
The fact that the world is not flat would be news to those that post in the Lair. Other things that would be news is that the moon landing was real and that crop circles are not caused by aliens. If it wasn't for the National Enquirer most of those doofuses wouldn't read anything. What? Pitt has branch campuses? Hmmm must be news to those that post on the Liar.
And one has a Penn State campus and another is home for quite a few Penn State employees.Coincidence that two of the top three towns also sport Pitt branch campuses? I think not
Really quite sad and not funny. Many of these towns help build PA with the coal and steel industry. Now they are forgotten people and legacies.
I think you're reading too much into it. Have you looked at the web site? Everything there is just useless click bait. The author attempts to demean the good white people of the commonwealth with his slanderous attacks. These are hard working people who are frustrated with the cultural elites and their constant attacks on God, Guns and moral values.
That's where Gloria Estefan was nearly paralyzed in a bus accident years ago. If I recall, she had some pretty high praise for the people of that area after her recovery. No "Whitehaven, PA", which is about half-way between Hazelton and Blakeslee directly on I-80??? That is also the name of the exit on I-80...use to shake my head every time I drove past it to or from NYC Metro Area heading back and forth to PSU games.

FoxChapelLion will no doubt be gratified to learn that his town was ranked as the "second least white trasn" town in Pennsylvania, following Franklin Park. Where the heck is Franklin Park?
Have no problem believing that, but the town should really consider a change to it's name such as "White's Town" or some such thing as the simple "optics" of stuff like this, just aren't very good:
"WHITEHAVEN FAMILLY DINER" in downtown Whitehaven, PA
As I understand it, the town derives its name from the PA Industrial magnate that founded the town in the early 1800s, Josiah White. I think consideration should be given to a more educated naming of the town to "White's Town" or "Josiah Town" or "Josiahton", etc... rather than "Whitehaven" which really has bad optics and is not a very good naming, relative to intent, of the town anyway.
Franklin Park is North of Pittsburgh and a very close family friend is the mayor. I am sure he is thrilled to get this honor. Just as an aside, he has three sons, two of which are Pitt Grads so they inhabit both the least and the most communities.
I agree with the posters who say this article is tasteless and far from funny.
and you think White's Town has better optics?
Ummmm, yea, precisely why I also suggested that they possibly consider using Josiah White's first name instead....."Josiah's Town" or "Josiahton", etc..., but you must have missed that part or maybe you just fluked "reading comprehension 101".

I hate two of the four you mentioned. The author attempts to demean the good white people of the commonwealth with his slanderous attacks. These are hard working people who are frustrated with the cultural elites and their constant attacks on God, Guns and moral values.
No my reading comprehension is fine, thanks. I didn't mention the other names because I thought they were equally stupid.
Its 2017 everyone needs to be outraged about something.
Get thicker skin, pnny or whatever your handle is this week.

Really? Strange, but that's not what you said in your original response - see below:
So you agree that a name like "Whitehaven" or even "White's Town" have bad unintended connotations relative to history dating back to the Civil War, but you don't think "Josiah's Town" or "Josiahton" maintain the original intent of the naming of the town, while eliminating the bad unintended coincidental connotations of the current name? BTW, why would a "Company Town" named for its industrialist magnate, in this case Josiah White being called "Josiahton" be "stupid"??? Only self-proclaimed douche geniuses such as yourself know the answer to that question.... In any event, you seem to like to go in a bunch of different tangents with your posts rather than staying on your supposed original point (first you claimed you didn't like the optics.....now you claim its because you think renaming is "stupid", whatever that means given that it is totally off-topic relative to your first response....) - go figure! lol.....in the worst possible of ways (i.e, it's you that's the funny joke, not your response).
Oh, for chrissakes, Bushy.Really? Strange, but that's not what you said in your original response - see below:

Franklin Park is 20 minutes North of the city. Great area.FoxChapelLion will no doubt be gratified to learn that his town was ranked as the "second least white trasn" town in Pennsylvania, following Franklin Park. Where the heck is Franklin Park?
