Jazz aficionados: Dr Lonnie Smith passed away today. A legendary Hammond B3 player. Right up there with Jimmy Smith.

Amazing player. Caught him at Coca Cola Club in NYC 15 years ago. Was lucky to catch Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff both about a year before their passing. I think Joey D and Reuben Wilson are still holding B3 strong.

Now that is a bummer. RIP. Love his music and Vibe, truly A great player and leader. Damn.
