Driving from PGH to NYC on Thursday. Because we live just north of PGH, I usually just take I79 and then I80 in. Are there any major construction delays on I80 to be concerned about? If so, was thinking of taking the turnpike to Carlisle and going up 81. Any major issues there? Thanks in advance, guys.

Since the roads you anticipate taking are Penn DOT highways, you'll be able to find the construction locations in the following link.

There are several I-80 construction zones between I-79 and State College. Believe it or not, pa511.com is a good website to see where they are.

I did the I-80 to I-79 route to get to Erie in May--huge PITA because of construction delays. Like anything though, it just depends on the time you travel. Right now, it looks like there isn't a big delay based on Google Maps.

Going through NJ, the construction is mostly at night. I78 is down to 1 lane in spots after 8:00 PM. Occasionally they will take it down to 1 lane during the day as well, but that seems to be sporadic.
