Have you seen his wife? He wasn’t taking it to help his performance on the ice!
Do they award a medal for the Curler that can lift the most stones at one time? What’s the point, for this sport? I know they all have to be in shape, but cheating in this sport doesn’t make any sense.
They cheat at everything and seem to think they have the right to do so and get indignant when caught. The ban for this Olympiad did not go far enough.
Russia was banned from the 2018 Paralympics for doping. Seriously.Do they award a medal for the Curler that can lift the most stones at one time? What’s the point, for this sport? I know they all have to be in shape, but cheating in this sport doesn’t make any sense.
My answer would be considered test board material.Does anyone believe Putin when he opens his mouth. Pathological.
Crazy good film. And extraordinary dumb luck. What started out as a supersize me exercise accidentally turned into a real time behind the scenes story of one of the top 3 doping scandals of all time.If you haven't seen it, I encourage everyone to go watch Icarus on netflix. It's a documentary by Bryan Fogel, which exploits Russia's state sponsored doping and so much more. It's very well made and definitely worth the watch.
State mandated is probably more like it.Is state sponsored worse than individual initiative?
My question remains, really. We look the other way when ours choose to but they haven’t been caught...by pretending their performance must be natural.State mandated is probably more like it.

So I figure PEDs must be some sort of national mandate. Because why else would you have widespread usage for the Paralympics of all things?
It would shock most people who is in USADA’s sights but the tests can’t match the current masking or other techniques. They would love to have sample retains for 10 years
I imagine they didn't figure they would test all Paralympians or curlers. What's next.....Chess?
Modafanil would undoubtedly give chess players an edge.Haha was just thinking the same thing about Chess.
The individuals? Of course not.Is there something about paralympians that suggests they want to win less?
Anyway....all I’m really saying is we point fingers where we shouldn’t be. We do it too and it isn’t just with today’s supplements that get banned in 10’years.
That's more of the normal condition of life in many parts of the world, especially the most corrupt countries, countries where private property rights are culturally dismissed, and/or the police are useless or worse.I generally do not stereotype, but this quick story, is a stereotype but true nonetheless. My brother in law lives across the street from a Russian family new to the US. Very very nice people. He gets a knock on his door one morning and it is the Russian guy from across the street holding his 55 inch flat screen tv. My BIL asks what's up. The Russian says "we are going out of town for a few days can you hold on to my TV while we are gone?" My BIL leaks why. Answer - "My family knows we will be out of town and while we are gone they will come and steal it". I kid you not, this is apparently very common behavior. What kind of world must it be when you can't trust your own family? This is what a century of secularism gets you, just basic morality is out the window.
Hell yes. Not only is it diametrically opposed to the whole purpose of international sport, it is also at the root of the kind of jingoistic that leads to thinks like Crimea.State mandated is probably more like it.
You laugh....I imagine they didn't figure they would test all Paralympians or curlers. What's next.....Chess?
Except that in general, is is the presence of others pointing the finger that allows the detection....which is what happened in the Russia situation. A whistleblower. Bonds still isn’t caught since he didn’t test. Armstrong pointed out by teammates because he required it (never mind that his Tour de France wins couldn’t be awarded to anyone on the podium in his 7 years because all 21 were implicated st some point).I generally do not stereotype, but this quick story, is a stereotype but true nonetheless. The Russian cheating is "State sponsored" which is the most shocking part. Here we have individual athletes, Barry Bonds or Lance Armstrong, or maybe a trainer trying to get ahead. A cautionary tale for our country in the future.
If the Russians had been in way way serious about salvaging this gold medal, they would have simply directed the guy to cop to taking the meldonium for ED. Given his wife/teammate and the fact that the IOC is literally providing 110,000 condoms for use in the athlete's village (an average of 37 per competitor), I'm sure everyone would understand perfectly well.
You laugh....
There is already doping, and testing, in chess.
"I don't do doping, I am doping."
My reply would be reprimanded, due to it having political intent and content.Does anyone believe Putin when he opens his mouth. Pathological.
