My samsung internet app gives me a message that says SAMSUNG SECURITY BREACH GOOGLE SUPPORT Transferring your personal data and pictures.

It says we recently identified and shut down a security event involving my account information and to call Google Support at 888-695-1868. It says my operating system is locked.

I assume it's some sort of malware but I can't get further into my Samsung Internet App. Phone, text, email, google photos, and other apps tested seem to work fine. I can also access the internet using the Chrome App. I ran malware software on my phone and found nothing.

Any ideas on how to resolve this problem? My next step would be to uninstall and reinstall the internet app.

pay up ;).

It looks like a pfishing message. I’d ignore it.
The problem is I can't get past it to other internet pages. If I can't figure out how to fix it I'll delete the app (or just disable it if Samsung won't allow me to delete it). Then I'll use the chrome browser.

Just looking to see if others had a solution.

It's likely a phishing attempt but I'd clear the app data.

Android 7.0 Nougat
  1. From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Apps.
  4. Tap the desired application in the default list or tap Menu icon > Show system apps to display preinstalled apps.
  5. Tap Storage.
  6. Tap Clear data and then tap OK.
  7. Tap Clear cache.

Thanks. I should have thought of that. The app now works. I obviously lost the pages I had open, home page setting, etc. but that's easy to fix.

I have a very good Samsung desktop and have enjoyed it. Never buy their POS refrigerators though. There is a known issue for the last 5 years with their ice maker they refuse to correct. It will continually make ice until it freezes up and never shut off. Solution is to use hair dryer to defrost it every 2-3 weeks. They have ignored fixing it and even their brand new ones have the same issue. Go with a Whirlpool you will be much happier.

I have a Samsung washer and dryer I bought three years ago. So far so good. I have heard terrible things about their refrigerators though.
