OT: saw 12 Strong movie over the weekend

I honestly don’t remember this story when it happened, but then again it may have been classified. I was aware of a book somewhere around when the lone survivor book came out, or maybe it was just two popular books about the war in Afghanistan when I got around to reading lone survivor. I never read the book, but I think it was called Horse Soldiers. Anyway... it was quite good, and very entertaining. I thought the actor, Michael Shannon, that played the warrant officer was particularly good... he’s playing the hostage negotiator in the Waco miniseries now.

I would absolutely recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys patriotic/war/action movies.

Saw it also. The Afghanistan soldiers and the Taliban were so real.

with the ferocity of the many fire fights, hard to believe they all made it back.

We saw the trailer back at Christmas when viewing Darkest Hour. I knew I wanted to see it but our local theater ended its run last Thurs so I'll have to wait fo it to surface on TV or buy the video when it is available. Thanks Ranger for the recc. You confirmed my suspicion of it being my kind of movie.

Yes Horse Soldiers is the book and is quite good. Haven't seen the movie yet but looking forward to it.
