OT: Shark!

Those two shark attacks are just north of Myrtle Beach. They happened close by each other and 90 minutes apart. Quite possibly by the same shark. Interesting to see the local authorities are not recommending folks stay out of the water and are not providing Life Guards in the immediate area. But the most effective precautions appear to be ongoing helicopter and boat patrols just offshore.

Also been hearing that warming oceans result in sharks heading further north to find food.

Also, there is a tagged shark reported in the news roving around LI and NJ and can be followed almost live. (forget the website) S/he's been tracked from Fl to LI so far.

My daughter and hubby left on vacation today, driving down the Outer Banks to Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Savannah looking for some beach time.
