got out of college with not debt.. but no car or money. It was 1992/3 and the economy pretty much sucked. You could "pay" money to be be a "hard charger"/"self-starter" and they would put you in the Foot Locker management program LOL. So I worked a Wal-Mart down the street to get a down payment and buy a car. I could basically sell rings around anybody in the store (I was in electronics) but they had no commission structure so I made the same thing as the mouth breathers that worked around me. They would sing songs and clap in the morning.. it was really strange.. I would never really clap or sing.. Some employees were so poor the would buy bread and peanut butter and it that every day..

We had to have a manager initial checks > $100. I had a manager who did a little scribble about the size of an ant and then I got "called in" for passing a bad check. The manager who made the mark was a Nam vet with metal plate in his head and a family to support.. he needed that job way worse than me.When I pointed to the ant-sized mark the store manager "Mitch" who was pretty cool didn't see the ant-sized mark. He told me to "get the eff outta here" and go do something that pays me.. so I did--which led me to Agency Rent a Car. The job was "dangerous" as we had to lash up and tow the cars to people, other wise it wasn't bad for a year or whatever I did it. But is was fun taking cars down for "LOF's" and bs'ing with the oil change dudes about sports and bar wenches. I was in Charlotte.. and working in Gastonia for the Rent A Car place.. Gastonia.. man.. classic.

So I bot a computer (no sound ever came out) grabbed a few six packs and taught myself to use Excel better than 90% of people out there, and got into temping while waiting tables at night. 1.5 years or bank temping led to a job where I got laid off as we bot a mutl fund company in Boston. Not a good fit again as at banks they have meetings to discuss meetings about past meeting reassessing future meetings. I did good at the job, but I didn't brown nose correctly (I was playing guitar/music and thought bankers were dorks) I took my buyout pay and moved to Cali to play guitar.. but I can't sing for shit and LA was mammoth and I started working at a brokerage (I had got my 7 license at a bank). Became a Fin Advisor and moved to Dego.. Started posting on BWI/Plotit back at the bank as a temp.

In those days of early email we would do things like steal passwords and email our buddy from this big shim looking girl and watch his face turn green when he read the emails...man.. those were the days.-sg
