ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith apologized on Twitter for a one-liner he made on "SportsCenter" on Friday about a Women's World Cup match.

The questionable "joke"?

"They might not have wanted to mess their hair up," Smith said, referring to Germany's failed attempt to stop Norway's free kick goal.

Jesus. That's just plain stupidity to say something like that, in 2015. It's not even funny.

Well Smith sometimes is surprisingly intelligent. He does love eating his foot it seems like. If you are going to attempt to be risky with a joke make sure it is funny.

Olbermann is the one that I think makes everyone sick. How he keeps getting employed is a new wonder of the world. He is a horrible person/not nearly as smart as he thinks and really just downright scary.

And he does it often, simply because he loves to here himself talk. Seriously, that dude will pontificate until there's no one else willing to talk back to him and often in only a few breaths. When you never stop talking, stupid stuff will come out of your mouth no matter how intelligent you may, or may not be.

Seriously, he is so bad, that I either mute the tv or change the channel when his pompous mug comes on screen. He is so full of himself and void of anything of substance , that I can't bear to show even a modicum of interest when he starts yapping.

That turd is getting payback for crying racism about everything. Even if he's not a flat out misogynist, any little slip up will bring down charges of sexism because of his ridiculous comments about Ray Rice and his wife. He made his bed and now has to sleep in it.

Stephen Smith needs to do himself a favor and STFU but, GastonLion is right; Smith is so pompous he can't help himself.

Yea if your going to make an off color un "pc" joke at least make it funny, cause your only going to get 1 chance, unless of course you work for ESPN were making yourself look like a complete douche bag is a job requirement. One that Stephen A. has excelled at.

I'm not a Smith fan but so what, it was made in jest. No big deal.
