ever go to that event? I played there once but never was there for tourney. Anyone have any input on how the tickets are structured....can you walk the whole course with cheapest, grounds tickets?

You can walk the course anywhere. I went the last year Tiger Won it. Tiger, Phil and Sergio were out the back nine in 3 consecutive groups. Kept walking back and forth to watch as many shots as I could. They each shot low to mid 60's that day. They went out early Friday morning. Crowds were getting bad as I left. Would never want to be there on the weekend.

Yes, you can walk the whole course with a general admission ticket. Some grandstands and the clubhouse, of course, are restricted. Order early so that you can take delivery at home before leaving. Also, be aware that The Players Championship, like the majors, can be a bit more strict on what you can bring onto the course. Not that the rules are different, but the enforcement is pretty strict. Read the restrictions carefully before leaving home.

You'll find the TPC Sawgrass to be rather fan-friendly, being a "stadium" course. Lot's of good vantage points. The 17th is a nice spot (near the entrance) but it gets crowded. Go on a weekday if you're seriously interested in watching golf close-up. Frankly, I would tend towards a minor tournament that tends to draw a strong, international field, like the ones just before/after the Masters.
