OT: We lost a few good actors this week.

Roger Rees, known for his roles in Cheers and The West Wing, died today at the age of 71.

Omar Sharif died of a heart attack yesterday. He was 83.

Irwin Keyes, a character actor in a number of films, died on Wednesday at the age of 63.

Amanda Peterson, who starred with Patrick Dempsey in Can't Buy Me Love in 1987, died last Friday. She was just 43.

I'm glad you mentioned Amanda Peterson. She was just 16 when she starred with Dempsey. She was young, beautiful and destined for greatness, but, like many other actresses, she came upon tough times and never came close to her early successes. She had some drug issues, although there is no indication her death was drug related. Hers is a sad story, just like so many in the entertainment industry. I doubt she had much peace on earth. I pray she has it now.

I heard Peterson had heart problems, but I had not heard about her drug issues. The two likely were related. Very sad. I was in high school when Can't Buy Me Love came out, and I saw it in the theater with three friends. We enjoyed the movie, and we loved Peterson. So sad that she passed away so young.

You have to wonder if he is really that stupid. Part of me says he is, but part of me says he is a little weenie so desperate to make an ill-conceived anti-Joe agenda reality that he will try to craft the most inane arguments to serve it. Anything to try to keep it going.

I saw him in Hamlet in London with the Royal Shakespeare Company, must have been in 1985.
