I just noticed, after roughly two years of posting here (call me Mr. Observant), that every time I log onto this site, there is (in the upper right hand corner of the screen) a box with my handle, avatar, number of posts, number of likes, and something called "Points." It says I have 12,000 odd posts, roughly 3,400 likes, and grand total of one (1) "Point."

When I click on other posters' avatars or names, their box reflects the name as "Trophy Points," and I have yet to find anyone who has other than one Point/Trophy Point.

What is this "Trophy Point" for? Both substantive and snarky answers are welcome.

Bob: I was thinking that might be it. Yay for me! And you.

Query: Is that spankworthy?

LB - For what it's worth, I don't think more than a couple hundred of your posts were "odd"!

The Rutgers Rivals Board is big on trophys. Here is their list.

Redshirt: 0 posts(You begin with this title.)
Freshman: 100
Sophomore: 250
Junior: 500
Senior: 1,000
All Conference: 2,500
All American: 5,000
Heisman Winner: 10,000
Hall of Famer: 20,000
Legend: 50,000

And on Pitt's board you get to be National Champion after 9 posts (or one good one that rips on Penn State).

Mr. Observant you are ... not

If you click on any poster's avatar, you'll get a screen that shows when they joined, their number of posts, their number of likes, their trophy points, etc. Pretty much everyone will have 1 for the trophy points. If you click on that 1, you'll get a screen that states a few things, including:

"First Message

Post a message somewhere on the site to receive this."

If I recall correctly, a trophy point was awarded when you first posted on BWI's board, after the message boards were converted to the new software in April, 2015.

I believe each site has the option of determining what actions get you a trophy point, what the different trophy levels are, etc. I don't know the reasons beyond the decision, but BWI decided not to engage in the trophy system.

Also, I believe the trophies are specific for a site. So, if you post on another Rivals site, and they engage in the trophy system, then you can garner trophies for your profile on that site.

So what must a person do to earn a "Mauti?" The description doesn't really say other than being an animal on the site. I mean there are a lot of jackasses, slugs, and hyenas here, but I don't think those are the animals you have in mind.

If I recall correctly, the Mauti level was created before BWI decided not to engage in the trophy process. (They took that initial step, and that was it.)

I think it has to do with how much you've lost on Yahoo stock over the years.
So what must a person do to earn a "Mauti?"
Buying a bunch of yahoo stock wouldn't hurt.

I'd guess it denotes the number of cogent posts one has made, but upon further review, I think I've made at least 2 such posts. So I don't know.

Hmmm, so if this board were to decide to participate in the Trophy Process system, for what could we give such points?

Most likes for a single post in a week?

Front Range Portland Cement COTW (ah, the good old days)?

The first ever grammatically correct (as judged by a&l) post on the McAndrew board?

C'mon guys, be creative. Let Tom know for what things he should start awarding points (besides Blue Band "uniform" nominees;))
