My wife is a UVA grad and we both like visiting Pittsburgh. UVA plays at Pitt in October and we were talking about going to the game. I don't want this to turn into an opportunity to flame anyone, so please just keep the posts helpful.

Do you think there will be cheap tickets for sale the morning of the game? UVA is not a high profile team and is currently not at the top of the ACC. I'm guessing we could buy tickets from either Pitt or UVA, but those would be full price tickets and maybe not as well located as would be available from Pitt season ticket holders.

You may have a couple of problems here Dan. Unless I missed it, there has been no time announced for the game and Virginia is relatively close. Also, this is Pitt's Homecoming Game. Generally Pitt tickets are easily available the day of the game, but you might be rolling the dice on this one if you don't buy in advance.

Honestly, at all the Pitt games I've been to (minus ND and PSU), there are plenty of seats. The stadium is literally half empty. Buy the cheapest ticket there is in the endzone upper deck and then just walk down to empty seats on the sideline between the 40s on the UVA side.

Stand outside Heinz Field before the game and see how much scalpers will give you to take the tickets off their hands.

Go to the high school for the Fri night game and stay for the Pitt game

OR

Buy a box of Post's Crispy Critters, send in the box top and $2 for each ticket plus $19.95 shipping and handling.

Thanks for not turing this into an opportunity to flame, guys...
I wanted to throw in the "buy a 2-liter Mtn Dew" line, but someone beat me to it.

But, alright, no jokes, you won't have any problem. PSU, ND &, of late, WV brought in crowds. Beyond that, no matter what their fan(s?) suggest, you'll be looking at a half-empty stadium. If $$ is the even tiniest of consideration, I'd wait & scalp.

Pitt scalpers usually each hold up 2 hands full of tickets and let patrons play 52 pick-up for free lol. Seriously tho, go on stubhub and get the cheapest possible then move to the 50 yard line.
