We seemed to make strides against one of the weaker opponents we will face this year. Nice to see Mangiro praise the OC for sticking to the running game. He's the first to do so that I know of. It took 4 quarters, but finally paid dividends. And Hack, by now, has probably gotten over his total shock at not being sacked, but it wasn't easy.

Come Saturday night, we will have a much better idea just how far this OL has come. If in fact they are starting to put things together then we will run well and Hack will make the seriously depleated RU dbs pay with a few bombs. Id take one or two in the 1st quarter.

I also am hoping for a rotation of RBs to get some of the other talented kids into the flow. We may have a surprise or two on the bench. Maybe a guy who runs OVER people..... Our success continues to depend on a running game taking the heat off Hack. That will let Hack get back to the free-wheeling kid he used to be, and loosen up that arm by throwing downfield. I know the coaches are reluctant to risk another round of sackaphobia so will likely play it closer to the vest. If so, Hack needs to get his mojo and loosen up on those short passes to the flat or to RBs in the backfield.

History says RU will come out and leave it all on the field. It IS a rivalry to them. Probably lots of penalties as the NJ kids on RU try to impress the higher rated NJ kids on PSU. Or just pay us back for last years bitter loss. I wonder what the over/under is on "cheap shots?" 5?

Is SB the real thing? Every indication says he is. If so he will crease the RU D more than once. I want to say we will be explosive both in the running and passing game, but things like that rarely happen overnight, or in one week. And RU continues to play better than you might think they are. Gotta hand it to the team and their coach. They are a bunch of tough guys.

Here's hoping OUR student body maintains their class and avoids trying to duplicate the kind of reception we got in NJ last year. Let the players handle things on the field.

PSU - comfortably. 28-17
