PA girls wrestling in PIAA review

It is good for men's (boys) wrestling as well as for women's (girl's) wrestling.

It promotes and legitimizes the entire sport and can only draw in more support, fans, and media attention. In the long run, it can also help to keep wrestling in the Olympics. Great news.

Need psu to get a team
It will be difficult because of Title IX. They have to maintain a 60-40 ratio between men and women's scholarships. So either another men's team would have to be added or a women' team cut. I spoke to an NLC rep about it this week when I was hit up for a donation.

I do not doubt you but it really seems strange, the whole idea behind Title IX is to give women opportunities. It seems stange that adding a women’s team also means adding a mens or cutting a womans.
You would think the goal is at least 60/40, but that 59/41 would also be ok.

To win that argument you would only need to present it.

You are correct Paul. A university could be 50/50 and totally in compliance.

Just repeating what I was told by PSU employees.
