PA States brackets and worthless predictions

Me too. Also rooting for billotte in the consis. By the way billotte is a football recruit coming up strong AND wrestling 285? As a QB?

Sorry if I missed it...the last post I read about Kibe was he was in the hole, but never saw a result?

Kibe was unimpressive yesterday. He pulled out a 3-1 win over Delp of Kiski, But the match was in doubt up till the end. Perhaps if he brings his "A" game, 170 may be his. But Pinto (Stroudsburg) is pretty good, and Reinert of Gettysburg looks tough. And the young Stout has the right genes.
So maybe 170 won't be the walk in the park that Kibe's fans anticipated.

Hopefully nobody anticipated a walk in the park for Kibe. 5 of the national top 20 are at AAA 170. Also, Delp is a D1 commit who medaled last year.

Forgotten in most conversations is Cam Robinson of CR North. He is ridiculously long, and he uses his length beautifully. I think the 152 final will be the AAA marquee matchup. Can Scott get the headlock on Robinson? If not, there is going to be trouble.

In yesterday's bout, the Clearfield kid picked up Robinson's foot and they went in the 'dance around on one foot' routine. McGonigal didn't have a chance of tripping Robinson, cause Robinson's leg is so long that he was totally out of McGonical's reach. Robinson was hoping around the mat on one foot, smiling. We were all laughing in the stands, it looked so funny,

The rest of the match, Robinson just trashed McGonical. It was awesome.
Personally, I have Ed Scott pinning Cam Robinson. The kid is on a terror, Robinson is going to have to wrestle his best to make it 6 minutes.

AAA 152 seeds:
1 – Ed Scott, NW-1, Dubois, 36-0 – state champ, #4
2 – Cam Robinson, SE-1, Council Rock North, 40-2 – S2, #12
3 – Luke Sainato, SC-1, Gettysburg, 35-11
4 – Cole Spencer, SW-1, Pine Richland, 38-0 – S8
5 – Matt Lackman, NE-1, Beca, 25-5

Others – top half:
AJ Tamburrino, SE-3, Hatboro-Horsham, 35-3 – S3, #19
Ethan Baney, SC-3, South Western, 30-5

Others – bottom half:
Nate Stefanik, NE-2, Nazareth, 34-5
Mark McGonigal, NW-3, Clearfield, 33-7

College commits: Scott (NC State), Robinson (Iowa State), Spencer (Penn), Lackman (Clarion), Tamburrino (Navy), Stefanik (Princeton), Baney (Campbell)

Scott has pinned his last 25 opponent -- but has occasionally given up the opening takedown. He is favored but not a lock. Robinson and Tamburrino both lost close, low-scoring matches to Ryan Anderson at states last year; Tamburrino later beat Condomitti.

Prediction:
1 – Scott
2 – Robinson
3 – Tamburrino
4 – Lackman
5 – Spencer
6 – Stefanik
Scott IS a lock and will pin his way through this bracket and win OW.

McGonigal lasted 1:41 with Scott.

Not sure what your definition of impressive is but Kibe is hardly ever aggressive or dominating. But . . . he wins almost every match. Has been that way for years.

6 Becahi Golden Hawks into the Semis, see what happens when you can’t wrestle girls to eliminate them.
RIght on cue, the next Beca wrestler lost (Harmon in the 126 blood round) and got eliminated.

2-2 as a Frosh at the PIAA AAA state tournament...pretty impressive.
Yes and no. I don't mean to downgrade him, merely pointing out that it was at 106 -- 16 of the 20 wrestlers are FR or SO -- 4 JRs, no SRs. All 8 medalists are FR/SO. 3 of the 4 semifinalists are FR.

It would be much more impressive at a higher weight where many/most of the wrestlers have hit puberty and have more experience.

Still, he had a good tourney, showed potential, can see him doing a lot better in the next 3 years.

Crookham 6-3 over Evans. 2 takedowns + reversal vs. 3 escapes.

Finals will be SE Regional finals rematch vs. Haines.
