Parking and Traffic Advisory for Friday Match at BJC

I am 2hrs away. My buddy can't get out of work until 4:30.
Should we ditch him?

Based on the last few BJC matches and the way it seems everyone likes to show up later and at the same time, I would. Guess it depends how good of a buddy he is. LOL

I dont think the parking pass came with all tickets. Maybe a special option to order or for season ticket holders? I known I got no parking pass with my ticket download.

I am a season ticket holder and the parking pass did not come with the season tickets.

A parking voucher was sent to season ticket holders. It's a flimsy, rather small piece of paper that was in the UPS Express envelope. The public sale, and those season ticket holders that got extra tickets did not get a voucher (or a second voucher for season ticket holders).

I've never used any of the parking garages so sorry for all the questions. Is it possible to drop someone off near the entrance to BJC and then go park in the garage? If yes, would it be close enough to the entrance that they could get inside and wait for me to get there with my phone? Or would it be easier to just utilize the shuttle?

I looked at the interactive map and see the handicap parking areas. Is it a long walk into the BJC from those locations?

Except my tickets were never sent. I found out yesterday I was expected to download them with my non-existent smart phone.
You can have mine since I won't need it. I'll be eating early dinner at The Deli.

Park in one of the small lots off Hastings Rd. There's no restrictions on parking after 5 PM on Friday and they're much closer than the nearest parking garage.

That is bad advice, unless he wants to walk up a slope. I doubt they are actually closer than East Deck.

I received my pass with my season tickets. Histone,
one year it took us over 45 minutes from the 99 exit to the parking lot. That was the year Cael himself arrived much later at the BJC than he wanted, he cited traffic.

Pretty sure that was prior to Varner on the staff. Today Cael could just have Varner move the cars out of the way.

I believe they are running free shuttles from the Eisenhower & East parking garages due to the cold weather. (Cue someone complaining about the downfall of humankind because we won't walk when it is chilly.)

All this for a psu basketball game? Wow we must be great!

Uber, or better yet, a Handy Delivery Taxi is also a good option.
Quick uber/taxi question. Is there a way for them to drop you off close to the Bjc without getting caught in the traffic?
Also, is it easy to grab one somewhere after the match?

If you call a taxi company, you can ask those questions. I'd guess off of University should be more workable than other nearby roads. Uber will undoubtedly be more expensive after, when the market dictates higher prices, unless you're willing to hop on a bus or something to a location a bit away from the BJC. I've actually put together a plan to take a bus the whole way from a block from my house.

Thanks. The wife and I live in mechanicsburg, but we decided to make a night of it. So we're staying at the days inn downtown. It's right on the cusp of a little bit longer walk than I'd like to make in this weather. Just weighing some options.

I would see if you can have an Uber take you to around the Creamery via Burrowes Road and walk from there. Otherwise I expect anything closer will result in Uber or taxi getting stuck in the traffic, unless you go very early.
