Does anyone have any experience with what time you need to arrive in town on Saturday morning to get a spot in the downtown parking garages for a 3:30pm kickoff?

Early.... like everything else. Available spots go fast because they are limited. Also, another game day change is at the old visitor center which is now an athletics admin office. You can no longer use the facilities or shop for some souvenirs. It’s closed to the public.

Two years ago I did this for the Michigan game which was a 730pm kickoff.

I found a space on my 3rd garage attempt at 8:30am in the morning. It’s tough for big games.

I was contemplating parking on the street and just taking the parking ticket but was i sure if they would tow you.

Just my $.02….haven’t been back for a game in years but ALWAYS parked on the streets in town, almost ALWAYS got a parking ticket, ALWAYS happily paid the ticket and NEVER got towed.

Fun to walk, feel the excitement building for the game, hit the stores, unload everything I bought into the trunk, grab the football necessities and then have a great beautiful stroll through campus out to my tailgate gathering!

Wish I was doing so every game day!

I don’t believe the borough will tow your car unless it is abandoned or in a place you’re not allowed to park in.

If you have unpaid tickets you are liable to be booted.

I starting parking downtown a few years ago when the University starting pushing tailgaters out to the fields. We used to tailgate in/around the Eisenhauer Deck. Now we just roll in, have breakfast, join another group's tailgate outside the stadium and get out of dodge ASAP after the game. The University really has ruined the tailgating atmosphere.

You can still tailgate on campus or around the deck. Just not in the deck, plus no more free parking if you get to a lot early.

So if I hear you right you are crying because you can no longer park for free on campus and tailgate (even though you are purposely avoiding saying that). You can pay to park and tailgate on campus, yet you rather bitch and pay to park downtown? 🙄

So if the parking garages are full, head out to innovation park and pay to park?

I won’t have a parking pass in advance so I would need to park somewhere that they allow you to just drive up and pay. Is the lots near innovation park the best bet?

There are several garages on campus where you can pay to park upon arrival. There is a new one on the far west end. I think it’s called West Deck.
