You talking about the parking garage? If so, no changes. Parking is free for events at Rec Hall.

Just don't back in to your parking space in any of the campus garages or you will be fined. Even though it is safer to be able to pull forward after the duel, with all those pedestrians rushing to their cars (not to mention the traffic delays in the multi-floor queues as vehicles must wait for each rear-moving vehicle to exit their space), those d%#kwads will ticket you. I fought my ticket several years ago and won because I argued (with photos) they only had one warning sign -- high above one entrance lane. The Magistrate told the Campus police after my Hearing to post more signs and eventually they did. I still think it's a stupid (i.e., unsafe) rule but it's the rule and it will be enforced.

Got a $40 fine for backing into a spot at the Eisenhower parking garage during the MSU football game 2 years ago. I could've parked on the grass next to a fire hydrant anywhere on campus and paid the same fine. What is their reasoning for not being able to back in? Why $40?

You serious? I haven't been to PSU since I sold land there in 2001, so I do not know. I back into every spot that I can, especially if there is no traffic. Makes it so much easier and safer to get out, especially at an event where 90% of the lot is leaving at the same time. In Austin, all pull in parking around UT is back up parking (no pull in allowed). And with most new cars with rear cameras, it is sooooooooo easy.

But to issue a fine in a garage? Makes no sense, but I guess it does, as it is PSU.
